Some great photos of Southfield from what we think (from the registration of the car shown) is probably the mid to late 1970's.
The steading and the original farmhouse are very recognisable and have changed very little over the last 40-45 years.
The yard looks very different though, a number of the buildings shown in these photos are no longer present and have been removed in the last 10 years or so; a reflection on the changes in use of the land over the years, and the increased size of the machinery associated with modern farming.
